Buying a Pager: What's Best For You
Thursday, 06 August 2009 18:32
When we have customers call or come in to our pager store we often hear "what kind of pager do I prefer"? Since we offer many styles and models of pagers to buy it gives alot of choices. This is necessary to fit the right pager to the right person. It is not just about getting any pager. Our paging specialists understand that a person's activities or job description may require a more durable pager or a smaller pager that fits into a pocket easy. Someone may prefer one with a larger LCD readout so they can see the numbers easy or something that offers a screen that lights up well at night. There are many reasons why it is important not to let someone send you ANY pager but make sure they identify your needs before you select the right pager.
Police Officers wear so much on there duty belt that most of the Police Departments we service look for something small yet durable. Many maintanence workers either for Janitorial companies or Apartment complexes need something simple and durable. Also they need something loud so when that resident with an emergency pages they can wake up and take care of them. Medical personnel who wear scrubs during the day prefer something small and lightweight that they can fit in their pocket.
Of course the most important thing is reliability. No matter what pager you select you want it to be reliable. Let's face it, the reason we use a pager is because we want to make sure that we can take care of our customer. Pagers are reliable source of communication. PagePlus tests all of our pagers with three different people to make sure that our pagers do not leave unless they are consistent and reliable. After all, if you can't take care of your customer someone else will.
Then there are features that you can add on to basic paging service that are a big reason people still have a need for pagers. Features such as a toll-free number are not yet available on a cellphone but available on a pager. Also Message Carbon Copy which allows someone to have a message sent to their cellphone or email at the same time it goes to their pager. This way they have two places to receive the same message. Then their is numeric retrieval which allows the end user to retrieve the last ten numeric messages that were paged to their device. There are alot more features available for your pager service.
Besides the obvious "affordability" being able to have a way to be reached at a fraction of the cost of a cellular phone. Pagers are also less intrusive. To a company they are also cheaper and less risky to give to an employee instead of going over your minute allotment with a cellphone.
Alot of people also use pagers with their alarm systems. They are notified by their alarm by pager when their alarm is triggered.
In closing always remember that there are many styles and models of pagers and we are sure we have the right one for you.
