Nationwide Paging Service is a Valuable Communication Solution

Let's start with the definition of nationwide paging service. Many people perceive nationwide paging as a service they need to receive pages in their local area. Many people overpay for service they do not require for the simple reason that their provider never explained the difference and how it works.
Pagers are simply a receiver that picks up a signal from a tower that has a transmitter. The transmitter looks for an address (capcode) in the specific pager. When it finds the address or capcode the pager receives the page.
If the end user is paying for local service the tower(s) in the area will transmit the signal to the pager locally and the pager will receive the page locally in that coverage area. If an end user is travelling around the USA and wants to receive a page then in order to use the towers in other states the end user must then pay for "Nationwide Pager Service Coverage". This will allow the end user to receive around the United States. The reason this feature costs so much more than local service is because all of the towers around the United States are activated for the specific pager.
So in summary, if the end user is staying in a local area (City or State) they can receive pages from anyone anywhere as long as the pager is in the local area it is contracted for. If the person is travelling around the United States and wants to receive pages while they are travelling that is when nationwide paging would be required.
At PagePlus to keep pricing to a minimum we are able to break up the United States into regions where you might be travelling only the East Coast so you do not need to pay the extra cost for Nationwide when East Coast coverage is all you need. When talking to your provider explain to them exactly where you need to receive pages at. Thant is the best way to check coverage. City/zip codes are often helpful in checking the best coverage for your paging needs.
